Data Replication in P2P Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
In a peer-to-peer (p2p) system, a large number of nodes share data with each other. The participation of nodes is highly dynamic; nodes may enter and leave the system at will. Since, it is not possible to maintain links with all nodes, for performance as well as for privacy and anonymity reasons, each node maintains links with a selected subset of other nodes, thus forming an overlay network. A Survey of Dynamic Replication Strategies for Improving Response Time in Data Grid Environment
Large-scale data management is a critical problem in a distributed system such as cloud,P2P system, World Wide Web (WWW), and Data Grid. One of the effective solutions is data replicationtechnique, which efficiently reduces the cost of communication and improves the data reliability andresponse time. Various replication methods can be proposed depending on when, where, and howreplicas are gener...
متن کاملP2P Network Trust Management Survey
Peer-to-peer applications (P2P) are no longer limited to home users, and start being accepted in academic and corporate environments. While file sharing and instant messaging applications are the most traditional examples, they are no longer the only ones benefiting from the potential advantages of P2P networks. For example, network file storage, data transmission, distributed computing, and co...
متن کاملOn Improving the Performance Dependability of Unstructured P2P Systems via Replication
The ever-increasing popularity of peer-to-peer (P2P) systems provides a strong motivation for designing a dependable P2P system. Dependability in P2P systems can be viewed from two different perspectives, namely system reliability (the availability of the individual peers) and system performance (data availability). This paper looks at dependability from the viewpoint of system performance and ...
متن کاملPopularity-Based Replication Strategy in Unstructured P2P File Sharing Systems
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks have shown to be an efficient and successful mechanism for file sharing over the internet. The unstructured P2P systems usually use a blind search method to find the requested data object. Observations have shown that a few of peers share most of data. In order to increase the success rate of blind search and data availability and load balancing, replication techniqu...
متن کاملAn Enhanced Data Replication Method in P2P Systems
P2P applications emerged as a powerful paradigm for sharing information across the internet. They cause much of internet traffic. The unstructured P2P systems usually use a bounded flooding method for searching. Observations have shown that a few of peers share most of data in a file sharing system. In order to increase the success rate of blind search and load balancing, replication techniques...
متن کاملA conceptual model for data management and distribution in peer-to-peer systems
While Peer-to-Peer (P2P) model gains significant attention in distributed computing, it is also expected to be a powerful model for information sharing. P2P systems are expected to provide exhaustive reliable computational resources and scalable accessibility. The data management and distribution in such systems requires storage, replication, data modeling, indexing, querying, retrieval, stream...
